Excursion: Up to Epomeo Mount

The private bus takes us to the starting point at an altitude of about 500 m. Our ascent to the highest mountain on the island of Ischia passes along unbeaten paths away from the tourist crowds.

Let's go along wooded and shady paths avoiding the boring asphalt road. Our ascent begins with a panoramic path that gives us a breathtaking view of Forio. Through a sea of rocks and passing interesting rock formations you reach the "Water Stone".

You will find out what secret is hidden behind the rocce verdithat we meet along the way, and that Epomeo is not a volcano! It is a clod of earth uplifted by tectonic forces. The path finally leads us to the crest of Epomeo.

At its summit, at an altitude of 789m, we are rewarded with a marvelous 360° panoramic view. After lunch break at the summit restaurant, we descend towards Fontana, where the bus that takes us back to the hotel awaits.
