Sentiero dei Frassitelli and Falanga

Starting near the restaurant "il Bracconiere" in the municipality of Serrara Fontana, we will walk towards the Frassitelli area crossing a wild and fascinating landscape along the north-west side of the island between broom plants and tuff rocks, until we arrive in the Frassitelli oak forest.

Here the view from the belvedere will open onto the breathtaking panorama offered by the territory of the municipality of Forio. Via an external mule track we will reach the village of Santa Maria al Monte and the homonymous church.

Then resuming the path entering an uphill mule track that connects to the Bianchetto area and then reaching the Falanga wood where we will go to the discovery of the ancient terraces that bear memory of the wine-growing importance of the area with its shelters and millstones dug into the tuff rock.

Leaving the forest behind, we will return to the Frassitelli area, where we will return towards the Bocca di Serra area, up to our starting point of the excursion.
