Sentiero del Monte di Panza and baie della Pelara
The meeting point and beginning of the excursion will be the headquarters of the Proloco Panza, in the municipality of Forio from where we will reach a path full of essences and colors of the plants typical of the Mediterranean scrub that will lead us towards the promontory of Monte di Panza.
This place will give us the same image that we could enjoy from the bow of a ship, allowing us to see the wonderful bays of Pelara and Sorgeto to the right and left and the "open sea" in front of us.
After stopping at this panoramic point, we will cross a dense wood of holm oaks and heather and a stretch of clearing characterized by a mantle of ferns. Then walking down the steps dug between the rock characterized by pumice and lapilli, we will reach the sea of the Pelara bay, a valuable volcanic geosite.
We will retrace the path until we return to the holm oak forest where, via a detour, we will skirt some private land until we reach the upper part of Panza, then taking "via Trave", we will be able to dive into the past among medieval alleys and ancient cellars with huge doors that testify to the importance and dedication of the locals to farming activities.
The road will take us right in front of the headquarters of the Proloco Panza, where we will end the excursion.
